The OHBP Twitter/X conference (26 Sept 2023) provided a platform to explore the environmental impact of pharmaceuticals, emphasising the significance within the One Health framework. It highlighted innovative research, technologies, and initiatives that aligned with the Scotland Government’s sustainable healthcare agenda, highlighting how these advancements could be integrated into healthcare practices to minimise the environmental footprint of pharmaceuticals.
The opening keynote address was delivered by Baroness Natalie Bennett, Green Party Peer and Member of the UK House of Lords. Baroness Bennett gave insight into the importance of championing environmental sustainability and One Health through cross-sector and trans-disciplinary approaches, in the context of climate change, biodiversity crises and planetary health.
